Just a reminder about the Troudt Reunion for 2012!!! Hope to see you all there!!

It's again time for our Troudt Reunion for the descendants and ALL other relatives of William Troudt and Vhelmae Rennick Troudt who wish to attend!

The Reunion is being held at the Wildhorse Resort and Casino and RV Park near Pendleton, Oregon during the weekend of August 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2012.

Our main "get-together" will be the Potluck Dinner on Saturday afternoon/evening! Please bring your favorite dish and if you wish, a copy of the recipe so we can exchange recipes. We will take pictures before dinner. Morgan has consented again sing and/or play her viola for us after dinner! I am looking forward to that!

Please let me know if you have ideas for activities, etc. I know there are many talented Troudts....so it would be fun to learn who they are and what their talents are at the Reunion!

Morgan and I will have Troudt Family History information to share since she and I are attending the AHSGR (American Historical Society of Germans from Russia) convention in Portland in June.

The Wildhorse Resort now has a movie theatre with five (5) screens. The Tamastlikt Museum has free admission on the first Friday of the month so we can visit the museum on Friday, August 3rd for free. The golf course is right there also for those of you who would like to golf! The swimming pool will be fun since it is usually really hot during our Reunion time! And of course we must visit so we can catch up on all that's happened since the last Reunion!

A block of RV spaces (10) has been held for that weekend (Friday and Saturday night); and there are now over 200 rooms at the expanded hotel so there should be plenty of places for everyone to stay during the Reunion weekend! There is also the option of renting the TeePee's or tent space for those who would like to utilize those options.

Please call 800-654-9453 or get on website http://www.wildhorseresort.com/ to get additional accomodation details and reserve RV space, hotel room, TeePee or tent spots.

If you want to reserve an RV space, please talk to the RV Park Office and indicate you want to reserve and pay for one of the spaces held in the Troudt Reunion block (spaces 91 thru 100). The cost for the RV space is $29.00 plus tax for Friday and Saturday nights (other nights are $24.00 plus tax). The RV spots will be held until the end of the day on July 20, 2012.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Saturday Birthdays!! This is a special Saturday, St. Patrick's Day! One of the Holinka ancestors, Patrick Minnehan, was born on March 17, 1834 in County Limerick, Ireland!! His wife, Johanna Scully, and their daughters, Margaret (Maggie)and Hattie were also born in Ireland! Maggie married Patrick Gormally whose
parents Michael Gormally and Anne McGee Gormally were Irish-born also.

Troudt Irish ancestors: Frances Rennick was born in Enniskillen, County Fermanaugh, Ireland in 1819. His family moved to Canada and then to Toulon, Stark Co, Illinois.

It's great to have Irish ancestors so we can celebrate St. Patrick's Day because we are Irish....not because we want to be Irish!!

Leap Year Day Birthday!!! Margaret Gordon Merrill born Feb. 29, 1852

Margaret Maria Gordon was born in Waynesburg, Green County, Pennsylvania, February 29, 1852, and died at Nelson, Nebraska, June 4, 1916. In 1861 she moved with her parents (John Gordon and Hannah Shull Gordon) to Broadwell, Illinois, where she was married to Hiram H. Merrill Oct. 13 1870. They came to Nebraska in 1879 and located on a farm near Nora, where she made her home until after the death of her husband January 24, 1911.

Margaret Gordon Merrill is Grandma Vhelmae Rennick Troudt's grandmother. Margaret's child, Lucretia Merrill, is Grandma Vhelmae's mother!

Too confusing? It is for me so maybe this will help!!!

Margaret Gordon Merrill (our Leap Year Birthday Person) and Hiram Merrill had child-Lucretia Merrill, then

Lucretia Merrill Rennick and Ernest Rennick had child--Vhelmae Rennick

Vhelmae Rennick and William Troudt married and had Wesley, Ray, and OnaBeth!!!! And we are all descendants of Vhelmae and William!!!
